News slanders group
The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is a complex and troubling situation that does not lend itself well to simplified anaylsis or resolution. This, I think, we can all agree on.
It is truly troubling, that given the many extreme views espoused by the pro-Israel side and the pro-Palestinian side, the Rocky Mountain News would choose to attack a moderate organization such as the Colorado Campaign for Middle East Peace ("Mideast conflict lands in mayor's race," May 20). This organization has a long history of seeking the middle road, and striving for a just and lasting peace in the region. By slandering CCMEP, the News has allied itself with the radicals on both sides who want only to prolong the fighting.
